I am Gershinen Shanding, a Nigeria-based data scientist and founder with six years of professional experience across public health data, economic analysis, and applied AI — now building technology companies of my own. I'm a Registered Member of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN).

With a strong focus on ethics and social change, I'm particularly interested in applying data science to policymaking and addressing prevalent societal issues such as out-of-school children, climate resilience, and equitable access to resources. I believe in building systems that tackle immediate challenges while creating long-term resilience for vulnerable communities.

I currently lead GERANDCO Technology, an AI, software, and data consultancy, as Founder & CEO, and serve as co-founder and CTO of Vetaly, a veterinary digital health platform — building its technical platform for veterinarian connections, health record tracking, and antimicrobial-use (AMU) surveillance. I also work part-time as an AI Consultant at NGEX, exploring applications of AI across their business processes, and facilitate the Data Science and Analytics Programme at Seedbuilders Innovation Hub.

My work consistently centers on reconciling data across systems that weren't built to share information with each other, and on translating technical work into outcomes non-technical stakeholders can act on — a thread that runs from my earlier role as a Python Data Scientist at eHealth4everyone, building predictive models from public health programme data across disconnected facility- and MIS-level systems, through to Data-Lead Africa and NGEX before that.

Beyond my day-to-day roles, I mentor aspiring data scientists, contribute to community-driven tech initiatives, and write publicly about applied AI and data practice. My journey is driven by a continuous thirst for learning, collaboration, and innovation toward a more equitable and resilient world.
